ENTT-02 Urban

The EducateNow ENTT-02-Urban Training Table utilises common industrial control equipment to provide realistic interactive 3D models and simulations of real life infrastructure systems found in urban areas such as traffic intersections, street lighting, power, water and wastewater distribution networks to domestic and commercial premises, lighting control systems and smart metering scenarios. The first installation of this table was in 2015 and versions of this table are currently being used at both University and Research Center sites.

Systems and functionality on this table includes:

  • Interactive working models of traffic\pedestrian light intersections with a capacitive vehicle detection sensor and a pedestrian crossing push button inputs 
  • Working internal lighting in model houses, apartment block and emergency services buildings with simulated triggers based on in built day\night schedules
  • Interactive working internal lighting in a Medical Centre controlled by an automated lighting control system with a smart user panel and web interface control page
  • Electrical sub-station with PLC control code that controls the town working streets lighting (together with an on table light level sensor), simulates the Transformer Tap changing process and provides load requirements to the Hydro power station on the Water table 
  • Simulated Gensets for the Emergency Services & Medical Buildings  
  • Sub-surface Integrated Status LED strips for the indication of the town power grid, water, sewerage and gas lines statuses
  • HMI touchscreen Operator Interface with Status and Operational control pages for the Substation, 4way and 3way Traffic intersections
  • SCADA Status and Control for each system 
  • An optional real life 230VAC Traffic & Pedestrian light linked to and controlled by the Urban Training Table Controls Cabinet 

The EducateNow ENTT-02-Urban Training Table will come with the following software and control programs;

  • Allen Bradley ML1400 4way Traffic Intersection PLC program incorporating external interaction
  • Allen Bradley ML1100 3way Traffic Intersection PLC program (control simulation only)
  • Allen Bradley ML1100 Substation PLC control program
  • Allen Bradley PV-800 HMI programming with control, status alarms and trending pages for the above PLCs
  • Philips Dynalite Lighting control programming for Medical Centre with web Status & Control page, including Antumbra  display switch plate
  • Table Control PLC program for the control of the Street lights, LV Power, Water and Waste Water networks LED indication, interfacing with the Traffic Light and Sub Station PLCs as well as other connected Training Table PLCs.
