Adelaide Brighton Cement
Ship Loader

Project Details

IndustrialNow provided O’Donnell Griffin with Industrial Control System programming and commissioning services for the implementation of a new ship loader control system for a Bruks Siwertell enclosed horizontal screw-conveying system.

The Siwertell SSL 700 Shiploader was chosen for its reduction in dust emissions, improved wear resistance and an increase in cement loading capacity to 900t/h.

In a strict, inflexible 28 day plant shutdown window, extensive engineering works were undertaken for the dismantling the old belt conveyor arm, modification of the support structure and the installation of the new loader system. During that time, IndustrialNow were tasked with integrating the new control and power systems with the site-wide controls network and Supervisory, Control And Data Acquisition system.

IndustrialNow integrated the screw-conveyor Variable Speed Drives for the safe, efficient and reliable transfer of material, controlled from new Human Machine Interfaces available at either the fully-equipped operator’s cabin or from the portable radio remote control unit.
